Regarding Kaniget Internet Radio!
The Day The Music Died
In a show of support to Indie Music Artists, rising stars, and the Indie
music community in general, Kaniget opened their Official Website
to air other artists in podcast format. This was a completely free
service to the artists who appeared here. Due to legislation aimed to
take effect in July 2007 which would cause high royalty payments and
fees just to have this service available to promote indie bands this
podcast service has ceased.
We hope all who have appeared here and those who have listened
have received benefit from our service. We urge you to communicate
with your legislators to remove what we consider very suppressive
regulation of internet radio. Especially for the small guys who now
face having to pay thousands of dollars just to carry out such
enterprises, which for most has been a labor of love
financed from their own resources and making no personal
reward other than knowing "I helped".
Suppression of the arts hits at the root of what makes society
grow and prosper. Artists have been the driving force in creating
what has always been "tomorrow". Don McLean, in his song
"American Pie" says it all. This is the day the music died.
